Good morning children, how are you today? I'm still well and healthy and I hope you can say the same!
Can you remember what we were saying about the Holy Week, at school?
Well, let's do a recap.
This Sunday 05th April 2020 is Palm Sunday
LENT finishes and the HOLY WEEK begins
- On Palm Sunday we commemorate when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, while people and children celabrated His entrance shaking palm branches at Him and singing:
HOSANNA! HOSANNA!
BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!
PEACE IN HEAVEN AND GLORY IN THE HIGHEST!
Here is a little video about this episode. The narrator is American, not British, but you can slow down the speed, using the setting button at the bottom of the video; you can activate the subtitles too.

- Good Friday is a day of reflection about Jesus' crucifiction and Passion. Many British people bake hot cross buns (full recipe here) to remember the cross on which Jesus died; others dye boiled eggs to get ready for the Eeaster egg hunt. In London, there is another tradition:
This year EASTER is on 12th APRIL
- Easter Sunday: there are a lot of traditions about Easter, in Great Britain: making and writing Easter cards, baking hot cross buns or a Simnel Cakes, decorating boiled eggs, hiding eggs around the house or the in
- garden and hunting for them. Here is a British Council website where you can find lots of activities and printable sheets.
If you prefer, you can decide not to print and you can write on your exercise book instead!
For now I wish you all a smashing Easter Holiday and a time of great joy and peace!
HAPPY EASTER!
See you soon!
